There is an issue with Microsoft Azure datacenter. This has resulted in Zahara being unavailable.
Microsoft engineers are working on resolving the situation – a cooling system in the building has failed.
Zahara will unfortunately be unavailable until this issue is resolved.

We apologise unreservedly for the inconvenience and will review this outcome to prevent this happening again.

Latest update from Microsoft:

Engineers have restored cooling and related functionality in the impacted Zone, and it has returned to normal operating temperatures. We are working through the structured recovery program to restore each of the services that were shut down during this incident, and are prioritizing the core services of Compute, Storage and Networking to expedite recovery.

4am – Zahara is now fully working again

We will review our setup and lessons learned from this and update our operational side as required
